Here is some good news for Apple fans in US and around the world. Its been a long wait, but soon after the news that the 3rd generation of iPhones will be launched in June this year broke, AT&T have officially released the iPhone without a contract although the device is still locked to AT&T.

In an obvious attempt to clear the iPhone 3G stock, AT&T will be selling the iPhone 3G starting at $599 for the 8GB and $699 for the 16GB. Priced too high we think, but the revolutionary device that makes news even for its firmware releases sure is worth considering.

So what do you think about the pricing? Isn’t $599 on the higher side? Would you buy the iPhone 3G barely 3 months before the announcement of the next iPhone? Drop in your comments below
