Adsense, Google’s Pay per Click program for publishers is used by millions around the world. A huge number of bloggers and site owners make a living out of money earned through Adsense. Through the many threads in popular forums to various blogs that I have browsed through, there seems to be a fear amongst publishers of Adsense accounts being disabled. But let me tell you, Google doesn’t disable accounts without a good valid reason. Unless you violate their Terms and Conditions or Program Policies, you don’t have to worry.
Here are a few Tips that Google Adsense publishers need to follow.
- Never click on your own Ads. Never ever do that. Don’t try to fool Google; they are tracking every single click. Find an ad tempting on your own site? Use the Adsense Preview Tool to view the ads.
- If you accidentally click on any of your ads, immediately inform the Adsense team regarding the same.
- Never ask your family, friends, relatives or anyone you know to click your ads.
- Do not modify the Adsense code. Editing the code that you get in your Adsense publisher panel is a violation of their program policy.
- Don’t label Google ads with anything other than “Advertisements” or “Sponsored Links”. Labeling either below or above the ad with words like “Click on the link below” or anything other than the two words mentioned above is strictly prohibited!
- Encouraging visitors to click ads anywhere on your website is prohibited.
- Displaying Google ads on Porn / Adult sites is not allowed.
- Don’t place Google ads in Pop-ups, empty pages or even 404 pages (error, unknown).
- Don’t place Google ads or search boxes in emails.
- Keep your Clicks – CTR – eCPM data private, don’t disclose it to anyone.
- Contact Google if you notice huge spike in clicks or click through ratio (CTR). For example, you normally receive 50 clicks a day with 3% CTR. But one day you find clicks at 300 with CTR much higher than usual! Email Google and explain clearly.
- Do not place more than 3 ad units, 3 link units and 2 search boxes on a single page.
- Do not sign up for more than one Adsense account. If you wish to sign up for different accounts for different business entities, contact Google.
- Don’t place misleading images above or next to your ads.
- Make quality websites with original content and clean design. Made for Adsense (MFA) sites will not make money in the long run. Google is smart, they will ban you sooner rather than later!
- Lastly, read the Google Adsense
