We were quite suprised when informed that the Nokia N96 has been launched in India!!
According to India’s leading Business daily The Economic Times, The Nokia N96 has been launched 2 months before its worldwide release to take on the Apple iPhone 3G which releases in the country on 22nd August 2008.
The Nokia N96 with 16GB worth of space, 5 megapixel autofocus camera, 2.8 inch QVGA screen along with many other features will be priced at around Rs 35,000 ($830) and will be available in Nokia outlets towards the end of the week.
The move by Nokia to release its much-awaited phone a few days prior to the Apple iPhone 3G could make the decision of “Which phone to buy” even harder.
Our take – Apple iPhone lacks some very basic features like Video recording and forwarding of SMSes. Go for Nokia N96, heck even the year old Nokia N95 8GB is far superior if you go by the features the phone is packed with.
iPhone has nothing much going for it beyond the touchscreen and the awesome browsing experience. Oh yeah, the HUGE hype!

Its not wise decision to compare iPhone and Nokia N96.
N96 is way better that any iPhone ever released.

N96 is super cool…even in the phase of crime detection.
Just a bit high with cost but it can be called a mobile computer.
