Wordpress 2.6 is here with many bug fixes, improvements and new features.

1. I loved the wiki-like Post revisions feature that has been added, which lets you track your previous post edits. This feature is very useful if you feel the need to revert back to your original or previous version of the post (incase of multiple edits).
2. Preview Themes is one feature that should have been integrated into wordpress long ago. It allows you to preview a theme before it goes live.
3. Press This! – Bookmark for your browser toolbar. When pressed on a youtube page, embeds the youtube video to your post. Codes of Images and Videos are preloaded.. Cool feature, do play around with it.
4. The alternate text of a image is now also used as the Image Caption. The caption is displayed below the image.
5. Built in word count for posts – Displays the number of words in your post.
6. Caching of frequently used files like CSS and Javascripts. Gears, a browser extension, needs to be installed. Currently compatible with Firefox and Internet Explorer only.
7. Images in Gallery can be re-ordered by a simple drag and drop.
8. A small bubble appears above, the link to the Plugin page, it contains the number of plugins that needs to be updated.
9. wp-config.php file and wp-content folder can now be moved to a custom location outside their default directory.
10. Bulk activate / deactivate plugins.
11. Bulk Delete of inactive plugins.
12. The active and inactive plugins are now displayed seperately.
13. Customizable Default Avatars lets you choose a default avatar.
14. Ability to disable remote publishing of posts for security reasons.
15. Full SSL support for the admin.
